New Hampshire

Growing up, I spent so much time in the stunning scenery of New Hampshire's White Mountains. Our family loves piling into the wagoneer and heading up for a snow filled adventure. If you're looking for the ideal winter weekend  getaway join us as we guide you around one of our favorite winter escapes, taking you to all of our favorite places within the white mountain region!

MAD RIVER COFFEE

Whenever we first arrive in New Hampshire, we always head to Mad River Coffee in Campton, NH. This charming coffee shop quickly captivated us with its rustic feel and the irresistible aroma of freshly brewed coffee the moment we walked through the door. They offer delicious homestyle breakfast sandwiches that have become our preferred pick along with decadent sweets from behind the counter we can't help but order every time. It has become the place we go to refuel our sense of adventure with every sip, readying us for the endless memories that await us in the gorgeous White Mountains.

WINTER ACTIVITIES

Embarking on a winter adventure in New Hampshire is a cherished family tradition, and exploring the diverse ski and snowboard destinations across the state is always a thrill. Whether it's the exhilarating slopes and snow tubing at Loon Mountain, the scenic trails at Bretton Woods, or the excitement of Cranmore Mountain and King Pine Ski Area, each winter excursion becomes a treasured and adrenaline-filled event for us. New Hampshire's array of ski and snowboard options, including tubing adventures, creates a winter wonderland of exploration and fun, offering something for every snow enthusiast in the family.

EXPLORING

The perfect winter getaway in the White Mountains calls for a scenic drive through Franconia Notch—an absolute must for any traveler. Along the way, numerous inviting spots beg for exploration and hiking, and among our favorites is the enchanting Flume Gorge, where towering granite walls frame a winter wonderland of icicles and snow-covered paths. Another gem to consider is Crawford Notch, where the snow-draped landscape beckons adventure seekers, offering a picturesque setting that's perfect for those eager to strap on their snowshoes. For a more alpine experience, Cannon Mountain's aerial tramway provides breathtaking views of the snowy peaks, and the Cannon Mountain Ski Area offers diverse skiing opportunities for all skill levels. Further south, Ragged Mountain Resort boasts scenic trails and a family-friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for winter enthusiasts. If you want to explore some shops and walk through one of our favorite charming towns we'll always suggest for you to make the stop to Littleton. It's the perfect quaint New Hampshire town for any day trip. So whether starting a winter journey through iconic sites or venturing off the beaten path, the White Mountains region provides a diverse array of winter activities, promising an unforgettable winter escape for all.

The White Mountains are perfect for a day trip and have a plethora of hidden gems, and among our recent discoveries, Nestlenook Farm has become a family favorite. Nestled in the heart of the mountains, the farm offers an enchanting winter escape. We relished the charm of an old-fashioned sleigh ride, sipping glasses of champagne as we traversed the picturesque landscapes. The experience continued with delightful ice skating on Nestlenook Farm's pristine rink, creating lasting memories of winter wonder. Adding to our list of must-visit destinations, The Ice Castles  provide a truly enchanting winter spectacle. These magnificent ice structures captivate the imagination, showcasing the magic of winter in a mesmerizing display of artistry and nature's frozen beauty. Walking through the intricate ice formations, illuminated with colorful lights, evokes a sense of awe and wonder that is perfect for the whole family. Another fun activity is The Mount Washington Cog Railway, it offers an exhilarating and enjoyable adventure for visitors seeking a unique ascent to the summit of Mount Washington. It not only provides stunning panoramic views but also adds an element of fun with the steep ascent.
